Carinity Aged Care Shalom is situated in a prime location in North Rockhampton overlooking a picturesque lagoon filled with an abundance of river wildlife and birds.
Walking trails, seating areas, a barbecue and gazebo have been provided beside the lagoon for the enjoyment of the residents and their families; and for the many bird watchers who regularly come to visit.
Our centre offers 65 placements for permanent residential aged care, dementia specific and respite. We also provide retirement lifestyle living onsite, enabling couples to remain connected if one partner requires a higher level of care.
We have been providing quality care for older people in central Queensland since 1985 and have a range of facilities for residents to enjoy such as the community hall and multipurpose activity centre. An array of activities and events are organised on site, so there’s always plenty to do, such as crafts, indoor bowls, board games, concerts, fashion shows and other entertainment.
Residents can also access an on site hairdressing salon and allied medical professionals such as a physiotherapist, podiatrist and visiting doctors.
All meals are also cooked on the premises, resulting in delicious home cooked meals and the dining rooms and other communal areas are fully air conditioned.
Family and friends of residents are encouraged to visit regularly, with the lagoon recreational area and surrounding wetlands by the Fitzroy River providing the perfect place to catch up. This natural lagoon abounds with birds, turtles and river wildlife, so it’s a pure joy for nature enthusiasts.
While residents can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of living out of town, surrounded by spectacular scenery, shopping trips are only a short bus ride away.
Carinity is an outreach of Queensland Baptists.
