Our secure and affordable independent living units in Fitzroy allow older people on low incomes to live independently in an inner Melbourne location that’s close to shops, parks, services and public transport.
Living in your own home gives stability and peace of mind. Our secure tenure units are at three locations in Fitzroy:
Millott House, 116 Fitzroy Street
Nine furnished bedsitters, each with an ensuite bathroom and kitchenette, and a shared laundry.
Sidney Myer House, 116 Fitzroy Street
Fifteen bedsitters with ensuite bathrooms, and a shared kitchen, laundry and spacious common living room.
Palmer Street, 74 Palmer Street
Ten one-bedroom flats, fully self contained.
Rent
All units are rented at a low cost.
Who is eligible?
A person may be eligible for one of our Independent Living units if they:
- are 55 years or older
- are on a low income and have no more than $30,000 worth of assets
- have not been a property owner in the past two years.
- are in receipt of a disability or aged care pension
- require support to maintain living in the community.
Priority will be given to people who are eligible for a Home Care Package.
