Assessment

Introduction to assessments

Before you can access support services you will need to undergo an aged care assessment to work out if you are eligible for Government funded aged care services. This Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT), or Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS) if you live in Victoria, will be used to determine how much support you need and what specific services you will benefit from.

Your aged care assessment will be person centered and take into account your individual circumstances, living situation, your current health and care needs, and any supports you already receive. It will also consider potential future health needs as well as any goals you may have to live a happy life.

The aged care assessment is an important stepping stone to accessing the services and support you require.
