Types of care

You'll have round-the-clock support to help manage your health, medication and personal care needs. There's a Registered Nurse on site daily, and a range of allied health professionals can address specific needs.

It’s a big decision, but sometimes, moving into an aged care home is the best way to get the help and support you need.

We think of ourselves as part of your extended family, working together to create a loving, caring and supportive environment – so you can settle in easier and feel right at home.

Keep in mind that there can be a waitlist for a place, so we recommend planning in advance. Need a place immediately? Get in touch

Our respite care is all about improving the wellbeing of both carers and their loved ones.

For carers, you’ll have less stress knowing your loved ones are in expert hands, and more time to relax or get things done. Self-care, by taking time out just for you, is so important for your health, and increases your energy and patience to care for others.

For respite residents, you’ll enjoy a change of scene and appreciate the community that’s central to every Uniting aged care home. Your social and emotional wellbeing is nurtured through stimulating recreational activities and engaging conversations with other residents and our caring team.

A week or two of respite with us is also a good way to experience what our home is like before moving in.

Availability varies, so please get in touch to find out how we can help.

The aged care system can be complex, but we're here to help.

Your fees and payments are regulated by the Australian Government and may be subsidised based on your income and assets.

Costs for residential respite care are different to those for permanent residents.

You’ll pay a basic daily care fee. It’s set by the government at 85% of the single basic age pension and adjusted twice a year.

Your questions answered

Yes, of course, we want everyone to feel very much at home. We encourage residents to customise their room with their belongings and to add personal touches such as music, a TV, photos, pictures, simple furnishings and bedspreads or doonas. We do insist that our beds are used, as they’re electrically operated for occupational health and safety reasons. We also discourage rugs as they can be a hazard for tripping.

All linen and towels are supplied and laundered for you. We’ll collect and wash your personal laundry and return it weekly, or more frequently if needed. For residents who prefer to wash their own clothes, there’s a large, free laundry. We also have dryers, irons and ironing boards available to use.

Yes, we’re able to support people living with dementia, as well as people with other high-care needs. Talk with us to discuss how we can support you.

Enjoy a cup of tea together, play a board game, or have a family BBQ. There’s plenty for visitors to see and do.

Open visiting is warmly invited. To maintain privacy and dignity for all residents, we ask that friends and family wishing to visit outside of regular hours make special arrangements with our care team.

Yes, it’s good for residents to have a change of scene. Some planning and supervision are required, so just let us know in advance and together we’ll make suitable arrangements.

For residents who can safely take their own medication, it can certainly continue. We just ask that Webster-paks® are used for added security, and stored in the lockable cupboard or drawer that’s provided in your room. Otherwise, our team are on hand to assist with any medication.
