Margaret Hubery Village | Rossmoyne | Southern Cross Care (WA)

About

Nestled in the beautiful, tranquil, riverside suburb of Rossmoyne, Margret Hubery Village enjoys the beauty of surrounding Regional Parks. It is idyllic and the ideal location for retirees who enjoy being outdoors and close to nature. The Village offers 37 units, with a range of both two and three-bedroom layouts. Four villas also have the added feature of built in lofts.

The Village is located just half a kilometre from the Canning River and under one kilometre  from the local shopping centre, bowling club and tennis courts. There is a bus stop right outside the Village which connects residents to the local bus routes and on to the Bull Creek Train Station.

The local shopping centre boasts a seven day a week supermarket store, newsagency, chemist and two restaurants as well as a pizza outlet and hairdressing salon.

Amenities at the village include the Edith Little Community Centre which offers a library, pool table, indoor carpet bowls and large screen television. The centre also provides a fully equipped kitchen and outdoor BBQ area. Residents also have access to ad-hoc or occasional on site services including a visiting Doctor, Podiatrist and local Hairdresser.

The Village community organise several weekly lifestyle activities that include carpet bowls in the community centre, Thursday afternoon Happy Hour and a card game every Monday evening. Every couple of months the resident’s committee organises day trips to places that in the past have included, Point Walter on the Swan River, the local Recycling Plant, visits to Mandurah and trips to the Kalamunda National Park.

Residents also have access to the variety of support services of Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc’s Home Care team, who can assist with ensuring that residents continue to remain independent for as long as they are able. On a user pays basis the support team can provide services to give you a hand around the home, including vacuuming, cleaning, washing and mopping to keep your house looking spick and span. They can also help with shopping and meal preparation, to keep you eating well and keeping healthy.

The Village is co-located with Margaret Hubery House, a 65 bed residential care facility which provides Village residents with a smooth transition of a resident into permanent residential care should the need arise. If a suitable place arises and there is a need for one, residents in the village may be offered first choice.
