Aubrey Downer Residential Aged Care Home is a friendly, family-oriented home located on a quiet suburban street in the Gosford suburb of Point Clare. Set on over eight hectares of lush gardens and spacious lawns, we offer single rooms with ensuites in the Alcheringa Lodge, as well as our separate and secure dementia unit Jeffress Lodge, which offers a beautiful dementia specific garden for residents to enjoy. Both lodges include community areas and visitors are welcome at any time. Thirty-two independent living units are also offered on our site. Staying active and socialising is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. At Aubrey Downer we run a fun and busy Health & Wellbeing program with activities such as arts, crafts and games, exercise groups, bus outings as well as movie and theme days. We have a number of volunteers supporting our home and have regular musical performances, fetes, raffles and visits from school and community groups. Aubrey Downer is also home to a vibrant multicultural community. We respect all cultures and religions and celebrate special occasions such as Birthdays, religious occasions and special days such as Mother’s Day. We provide a range of services for our residents, including: Registered nurses on staff Specialist palliative care Dementia support Respite care Delicious, home-cooked meals prepared on the premises Coded keypad entry and exit for the dementia unit. It’s our priority to ensure that you feel safe, secure and at home.  For your peace of mind, we provide care by a mix of registered nurses and personal carers. Access to our specialist dementia unit, ‘Jeffress’ lodge, is by secure key pad entry and exit codes. Your general practitioner can visit you at Aubrey Downer, or you can choose to have your records transferred to one of our visiting general practitioners. Hall & Prior’s Speech Pathologist and Dietitian visit Aubrey Downer regularly to support our residents’ care, and visits from other health professionals such as Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Dentists and Opticians are arranged as required. Enjoying a variety of delicious, nutritionally balanced meals is not only an important part of maintaining good health, it’s an important part of your day. Our kitchen team provides fresh meals that are prepared at our home and served straight to you. We consult with dieticians and speech pathologists to support our residents’ clinical care without compromising on taste. We offer a choice of hot and cold meals, cater for clinical dietary requirements, allergies, intolerances and cultural requirements, special requests to mark celebrations and a special menu for a theme day each month.
