Located at Elizabeth Bay in the leafy eastern suburbs, adjacent to St Lukes Private Hospital, Lulworth House is a 154 bed extra services aged care facility of the highest standard. The building is heritage listed and retains its original facade. Fully refurbished, extended and adapted for aged care, it retains a feeling of real character with a homely atmosphere.
Lulworth provides permanent residential care (incorporating ageing in place), and high and low level respite care options. Accommodation is designed to the highest standards and consists of both spacious single rooms and twin share rooms. Each generously proportioned room features a sitting area, high quality fittings and finishes, air conditioning, built-in wardrobe, television and ensuite bathroom. Residents are encouraged to bring some of their favourite personal items, paintings and items of furniture. A central garden and leafy outlooks from the resident rooms create a light and airy ambience.
For the enjoyment of residents and their visitors there are a number of pleasant areas for relaxing, including a reading room, sitting room, garden room, private dining room and verandahs, as well asa tranquil garden with beautiful plantings. Our staff are renowned for their warmth, enthusiasm, experience and patience. This creates arelaxed & caring atmosphere where residents input and involvement are highly valued and encouraged. Our exemplary care promises dignity and respect and emphasises the physical,emotional and mental wellbeing of residents in a comfortable, home-like atmosphere, with special attention to the needs of residents with dementia. Extra Service
Lulworth House has been approved by the Australian Government as an extra service facility and our ongoing standards of care are monitored by the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency.Extra service denotes the provision of superior accommodation, cuisine, activities, therapy and support services. This entitles the facility to charge extra service fees. In conjunction with 24-hour nursing care, allied health and professional services are tailored to meet individual resident needs. These include services in physiotherapy, dentistry, podiatry, dietetics, optometry, hairdressing, manicure and beauty therapy. Spiritual support is also provided weekly with a non-denominational service.
Activities
The focus of diverse activity programs at Lulworth is to give each resident a choice of regular activities to attend, either individually or in small groups. Activities include concerts with guest entertainers, craft, art, reminiscing, music therapy, Music and Memory Program, Paro (Robotic) seal therapy, pet therapy, individual sensory sessions, exercise classes, Tai Chi, coffee mornings, and appropriate group outings in St Lukes air-conditioned bus. Two notable features of our activities program are special relaxation therapy and the Elder Clown Program. Special relaxation therapy is a concept of sensory stimulation & relaxation which provides new ways of encouraging interaction and motivation from residents. Elder Clowns aim to engage, uplift and improve the quality of life of our residents, especially those living with dementia.
