There is a wide range of home care services available at Resthaven, delivered by trained staff in a way that supports your choices and independence, respects your privacy, and provides peace of mind.

Home Care Packages are available to eligible people across regional South Australia, in the Riverland, Limestone Coast, Murray Mallee Hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula, who have been assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team.

We provide in-home, tailored Home Care Packages, chosen by you to suit your needs and lifestyle. You design services and how your individual budget is used with the assistance of our experienced team who will guide you through the process.

Services may include: personal care, nursing, social support, domestic and shopping assistance, home maintenance, and transport.

What is reablement?

The Government uses the term ‘reablement’ to refer to short term or time limited support that helps a person to adapt to changed circumstances, such as functional loss after an illness or accident, or to regain confidence and capacity to return to their previous level of activity.

Short Term Restorative Care (STRC) is available from Resthaven Community Services in some areas. We help people who are experiencing illness or who have suffered an injury to get back their strength and ability, to ‘get back on their feet’ and improve their quality of life.

STRC is a time limited, early allied health intervention program that can play a valuable role in enabling people to maintain their independence.

Once ability is strengthened, maintenance of exercise programs and allied health support can enable clients to continue to enjoy the benefits the program brings.

The program complements the range of support services that Resthaven offers. We work together with older people to design a plan of care that reflects their choice and preferences.

The focus of the multidisciplinary team approach is healthy, active ageing to assist quality of life and avoid unnecessary hospitalisation, and possible premature entry to residential aged care.

Resthaven Community Services also provide in-home care, wellbeing services (individual and group therapies), centre-based and in-home carer respite.
