Held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, the AHW will be the biggest healthcare event in the country with over 7,000 people expected to attend.

The AHW is also the annual meeting ground for the aged care community with attendees able to network with others in the sector, wander through the exhibition hall for the latest in technology, and hear presentations from leading industry experts about best practice aged care.

The expo has a dedicated Aged Care Zone exhibiting all new technology and products on the market, which is set to change the way professionals deliver aged care.

This expo is free to attend. Grab a ticket on the Australian Healthcare Week Expo website

Key speakers for the aged care industry are Duncan McKellar, Head of Unit, Older Persons’ Mental Health Service Northern Adelaide Local Health Network; Kylie Houlihan, Chief Health Transformation Officer at integratedliving Australia; Matthew Richter, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Aged Care Guild; Caroline Marasovic, Director of Clinical Operations at Silver Chain Group; Sara Blunt, CEO of Kalyra Communities James Brown Memorial Trust; and Jason Howie, CEO of Kincare.

Mr Howie will also be giving a presentation called, ‘Lessons Learned from Kincare’s 5 Year Service Transformation Journey to Truly Embody Customer Experience’.

He will be talking about how continuous business improvement to put the customer first is essential for success and how Kincare has changed the fundamentals of their business to a consumer-directed-care approach.

Mr Howie will be explaining how Kincare tackled redesign challenges, selection of the right IT system to deliver desirable outputs, how to develop the right leadership team, what skills, training and culture you need from your staff to create good customer services, and much more.

There will be a panel discussion during the two day expo called ‘What will the Final Report of the Aged Care Royal Commission Mean for Australia?‘, with panellists discussing what recommendations will come out of the Royal Commission and how it may affect the future of aged care.

On the panel is Duncan McKellar, Head of Unit, Older Persons’ Mental Health Service Northern Adelaide Local Health Network; Valda Groves, Manager, public sector residential aged care services (PSRACS) Operations and Development, Department of Health and Human Services; Victoria Angela Massy, Head – Strategy, Innovation and Connection Suncare Community Services; Matthew Richter, CEO of the Aged Care Guild; and Angela Robinson, General Manager Risk and Compliance at Kincare.

Originally, the AHW expo was going to be held in March, however, the organisers of the event decided to postpone the event due to the recent coronavirus event.
