Currently the companies own and operate thirty-five existing residential services across metropolitan Melbourne, Phillip Island and Kilmore, catering for more than 2630 residents.

BlueCross Chief Executive Alan Lilly is set to lead the newly merged company, putting to use his background as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse, post graduate qualifications in general nursing and health service management and his extensive experience in the leadership and management of health and aged care services.

“I am delighted to be leading this great company which is very focuses on providing high quality care and service, with the highest standard of accommodation to meet the changing needs of our community,” Mr Lilly says.

Chief Executive of SapphireCare, Fabio Maya, will also hold a key executive role in the new company.

The company has assured residents that they do not anticipate any interruption or disruption to the frontline residential care, community and home care services they provide residents and customers; with most of the main changes occurring in the background to management and operating structures.

The merger is effective immediately, however the companies will combine business operations in the coming months with an anticipated completion for later this year.
