Plans to ‘spread the comfort’ to Western Australia’s South West, due to industry demands of providing care in remote locations, is on the agenda of aged care provider, Comfort Keepers.

Comfort Keepers’ operations manager, Tanya Whitehead, tells DPS News while care has been offered as far as Toodyay, the “sporadic nature” of referrals in remote locations makes it hard to retain staff as they are reportedly “unable to offer them guaranteed hours”.

“However, we are working on strategies to improve these challenges and fill the gaps,” she adds.

According to Ms Whitehead, with these exciting opportunities of expansion brings the need for staffing requirements.

“We are currently looking for a Care Coordinator to help us fill these gaps and provide a service to the community. Care coordinators are the backbone of this industry,” she claims.

Comfort Keepers North, which provides care north of the Swan river extending as far as Yanchep and out towards the Hills, has also recently started providing aged care support services in the Busselton and Dunsborough region.

“We are confident in providing services in these regions, following the exceptional service which our office coordinators have provided in delivering valued care services to approved providers in the last two years in Bunbury,” Ms Whitehead says.
