Disability Trusts booklet
A new Government Booklet, Special Disability Trusts – Getting Things Sorted – aims to help Australia’s 2.6 million carers. It outlines how to plan for the future care and accommodation of a person with disability.
The booklet explains how families can place up to $500,000 in a Special Disability Trust which will not impact on the beneficiary’s income support payment, such as Disability Support Pension or on the gifter’s pension, if they are of age pension age.
