DPS helping you stay at home for longer with brand new resource
Australians are living longer than ever before and most people want to live in their own home and community as they age. But when is it time to (re)consider your support options? What is involved, what options are available and where do you start?
DPS, Australia’s number 1 multiplatform aged care media company, is proud to launch a new publication, DPS Guide to Home Care, to help older Australians navigate the different home support options available.
The annual glossy magazine features a range of home care related content to assist consumers on their journey of living their best life at home for as long as possible.
The new DPS Guide to Home Care is your go-to resource that explains what to consider and helps consumers to be better prepared to be able to stay home for longer.
The publication covers a range of home care related topics including simple ways to improve your home environment, when to consider help at home, and how to plan and manage your supports.
It also includes a range of consumer stories and case studies from people sharing their support journey, as well as service and contact details of a number of home care providers for each State and Territory.
For DPS, creators of a suite of aged care and disability support resources, including the DPS Guide to Aged Care, AgedCareGuide.com.au, DPS Guide to Disability Support and DisabilitySupportGuide.com.au, releasing a new publication focusing solely on Home Care “simply made sense,” says Chief Executive Officer, Michelle Beech.
“At DPS our focus is on consumer-centric information and, as with our DPS Guide to Aged Care and AgedCareGuide.com.au website, we’re aiming to educate people about their options so they can make informed decisions about what support best meets their needs and circumstances, and who can provide that support.
“With the Government’s increased focus on choice and control for consumers, releasing a dedicated DPS Guide to Home Care to inform and share consumer experiences was the logical next step,” she adds.
Just like the DPS Guide to Aged Care, the DPS Guide to Home Care is part of the Government supported System Navigator trial, which delivers face-to-face services to consumers to help them navigate the system and connect people to services.
“Consumers interacting with organisations that are part of the Systems Navigator trial have access to a free copy of the DPS Guide to Home Care to further understand what is involved when searching for home care and find a provider near them using the directory tables of services that’s included in the Guide,” Ms Beech says.
Complementing the hard copy publication is the website www.AgedCareGuide.com.au/home-care which helps people find care at home and in their community by service type or location, making the information that is available in the hardcopy, also available online.
