Free activities for people with dementia and their families in Melbourne

Alzheimer’s Australia Vic is holding a range of new services and activities for people with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, as well as their families and friends, in Melbourne’s south east and north west suburbs through to June.

The sessions, held by staff from the organisation’s Dementia and Memory Community Centre, include dance therapy, art therapy, exercise and relaxation, nutrition and healthy eating tips, creating your life book and sharing life experiences in song.  They are designed to help people live positively with dementia.

Locations include: Altona, Hawthorn, Lalor, Melton, Narree Warren, Northcote, Rosanna, Rosebud, Sunshine and Thomastown.

The sessions usually last around two and a half hours, and are run by experienced facilitators.  They are free to attend, however bookings are essential.
