The Shine Retirement Living Information Seminar is sponsored by care and community services provider Churches of Christ Care, who operate Fair Haven Aged Care Services and Retirement Living.

Speakers will aim to cover a variety of topics, including knowing the difference between retirement living and aged care, understanding contracts and financially planning for retirement.

Executive Director of Shine Retirement Emma Plasier says it is important that seniors know what questions to ask before committing to purchasing property for their retirement.

“We look forward to sharing some great tips on seniors living, explaining the difference between aged care and retirement living, as well as helping educate locals on how easy it can be to make a lifestyle change today,” Ms Plasier says.

“This seminar will help arm attendees with what to look for and what to ask.”

The seminar will also cover recent legislation changes regarding pensions and retirement living, and will explore the benefits of seeing specialist lawyers and financial planners.

General Manager of Churches of Christ Care’s Retirement Living Beth Littler says the seminar is not to be missed.

“This seminar is a great opportunity for seniors and their families to find out valuable information about how their life may be enriched by village life and careful planning,” she says.

“[Retirement] can be a daunting time for people, so tips on how to access additional in-home support services and demystify costs, charges and contracts are invaluable.

“It’s also a great excuse to socialise and enjoy a complimentary morning tea.”

The Shine Retirement Living Information Seminar will be held at the Carriers Arms Hotel in Maryborough, Queensland, on Wednesday, June 21 from 10am until noon.
