The company not only caters for busy people or those wanting to watch their calorie intake, but it’s also a great option for seniors looking for nutritious ready-to-eat- meals.

Founder Nathan Portlock has always had an interest in health and fitness. He played National League Water polo for 20 years, played 306 games for the Adelaide Jets and held numerous Australian Institute of Sports and South Australian Sports Institute scholarships.

“I don’t like cooking, I’d rather have someone else cook for me.

“I just want to come home and throw something healthy in the microwave and eat.”

For Fresh Active he has teamed up with Australian Practising Dietitian Annalie Houston, who also has a background in sport and specialises in sports nutrition to create a range of nutritious meals.

“You can order these meal plans, whatever your calorie requirements or goals are and you don’t have to think about what you have to buy, prepare or cook,” Mr Portlock says.

“It’s guilt free and thought free. Not only for people who are training but for everyone who’s busy or people like my mum who’s retired and doesn’t want to cook every night, but still have tasty, nutritious meals.”

There are four complete meal plans to choose from. They include breakfast, lunch and dinner, and snacks, and are great for anyone who wants to plan all their meals five or 10 days ahead.

There is also the option of five or ten meal packs which allows people to choose from 22 different meals from the Fresh Active menu.

There are options for vegetarians, dairy free and gluten free and if you have any allergies or other dietary requirements contact the Fresh Active team to have meals tailored for you by Ms Houston.

“The meal plans are great if you want the lot, you don’t have to think. You don’t have to shop or cook, it’s all there,” says Mr Portlock.

Ordered online and delivered to your door, meals include gourmet choices like Kangaroo fillet with bush plum jam, salmon with roast vegetable salad, Spinach, feta and broad bean pie, and Fresh quinoa salad.

“Our produce is of high quality. All our meals are made fresh to order. When the orders come through we then cook the meals from fresh. There is nothing frozen and nothing stored on site,” Mr Portlock says.

“Our meals are vacuum sealed and delivered in an esky. You can store them in the fridge until you’re ready to eat.

“Our meals are different because they have been designed by an Australian Practising Dietician to provide you with all the nutrition you need so you can be sure you’re getting all the goodness you need to live the life you want and achieve your goals, whatever they may be.”
