GP Super clinic for Shellharbour in NSW

The Rudd Government has signed a contract with the Illawarra Division of General Practice to establish the $2.5 million Shellharbour GP Super Clinic.

“The Shellharbour GP Super Clinic will be a modern purpose-built facility, located in Shell Cove.

The facility will bring together general practitioners, practice nurses, allied health professionals, specialists and pathology services,” said Jennie George, the Federal MP for the area.

“The clinic will have a strong focus on acute care, preventative care and chronic disease management. It is anticipated that acute care services provided at the GP Super Clinic will take pressure off the Shellharbour Public Hospital Emergency Department”.

“The GP Super Clinic intends to bulk bill GP services for all patients under 18 years of age, as well as patients who are pensioners or health care card holders”.

The Illawarra Division of General Practice is an independent general practice organisation that represents and supports general practice to improve the health of the Illawarra community.
