For the third year in a row, community-based seniors’ lifestyle and care provider, IRT, has been awarded three top honours in The Australian Business Awards 2012. The awards engage with leading corporate, government and not-for-profit organisations across key industry segments.

For the third year in a row, community-based seniors’ lifestyle and care provider, IRT, has been awarded three top honours in The Australian Business Awards 2012.

IRT won in the categories:

  • 2012 Australian Business Award for Enterprise, recognising outstanding commercial success while undertaking bold new ventures
  • 2012 Australian Business Award for Environmental Sustainability, recognising IRT’s leadership and commitment to the enhancement, preservation and protection of the environment
  • 2012 Australian Business Award for Recommended Employer, recognising efforts in providing a stimulating and supportive workplace

The awards, established in 2005, engage with leading corporate, government and not-for-profit organisations across key industry segments, including financial, manufacturing, professional services, education etc.

IRT chief executive, Nieves Murray, said the awards reflected the substantial investment the organisation had made in research and policy, staff training, workforce development and sustainable business practice over the past year.

“We have been confronted by major policy and market challenges across our operations over the past three years which has seen our customer base nearly double in size,” Ms Murray said.

“To be recognised again on a national platform is a truly satisfying outcome for all of us here at IRT,” she added.

The Australian Business Awards program director, Tara Johnston, said these types of accolades “don’t come easily”.

“They are underpinned by vision and leadership, both of which require a clear dedication to research and development.

“Despite a challenging business environment, locally and abroad, this year’s participants in The Australian Business Awards remain steadfast in their commitment to innovation and excellence,” Ms Johnston said.
