“At IRT we truly value our employees and understand that it's their passion and professionalism that enables us to provide excellent care services and operate lifestyle communities that seniors want to be a part of,” says IRT Group Chief Executive, Nieves Murray.

“At our annual awards night we acknowledge and celebrate our high achievers who have done something exceptional to improve the lives of our customers, or enrich our organisation,” she says.

IRT Five Islands employee, Marissa Porter took home the coveted Faye Hynds Memorial High Achiever Award for successfully completing her Certificate IV in Aged Care and Home and Community Care in the face of personal hardship.

“Marissa is an inspiration to us all after going on to complete her training while battling poor health and debilitating Multiple Sclerosis,” says Ms Murray.

IRT Moruya employee Helen Bogart was recognised with the Kathleen O’Sullivan Memorial Award for demonstrating outstanding dedication, commitment to excellence and continuing professionalism.

“She has a real passion for dementia care and Helen used her newfound knowledge to introduce a one-on-one dementia-specific activities program for IRT Moruya residents.” Ms Murray explains.

Another award winner was IRT St Georges Basin's Anna Everts, who won the Superior Customer Service Award for helping a resident fulfil his wish to return home to the UK.

“This was no easy feat and Anna had to liaise with three government bodies, but with her help, the resident achieved his wish and flew home to live out his final days in his beloved UK,” Ms Murray says.

The Innovation Award was won by IRT Market Street employees Melanie Heywood and Leanne Roan, who delivered a 75% time reduction for mass mail outs.

Other awards winners included the IRT Tarrawanna Commissioning Team, who relocated 100 frail Care Centre residents in just four days, finance managers Matt Hartley and Jason Gaudiosi, who've improved IRT's business management, Nigel Button and Christine Hook from IRT Links Seaside for exceptional customer service, and ICT's Scott Belgrove for going above and beyond to ensure Workplace Health and Safety during IT project rollouts

IRT has a 22500 strong national workforce and specialises in seniors lifestyle and care solutions.
