LASA makes Australia’s top 50 most innovative companies
National peak body, Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) has been recognised as a leader in promoting innovation in the aged care sector after being named in the Australian Financial Review’s (AFR) BOSS Top 50 Most Innovative Companies in Australia and New Zealand for their innovAGEING initiative.
LASA was also fifth in the Most Innovative Company within the Government, Education and Not-For-Profit sectors category.
This is the first time organisations were ranked against their peers across ten different industry lists.
LASA Chief Executive Officer, Sean Rooney, was proud of LASA’s recognition for their delivery of innovative services to older Australians.
“Without the Government’s initial support for this initiative, and then the ongoing commitment via the innovAGEING Advisory Group, we would not have been able to, firstly get innovAGEING up and running, let alone realise the impact it is having across the industry,” says Mr Rooney.
“We are extremely proud of the AFR’s recognition for LASA and our innovAGEING partners.”
innovAGEING is a national network for aged care services and encourages providers to accelerate innovation, translate ideas into actions and deliver better outcomes for older Australians.
The Principal Advisor of Innovation at LASA’s innovAGEING initiative, Merlin Kong, says, “Reframing the age services innovation agenda to be about organisations changing the logic of their business rather than talking about technology has fostered a more inclusive and constructive innovation environment for our industry.
“The AFR’s recognition is a further sign that age services innovation provides a tangible contribution to better outcomes for older Australians.”
