Diabetes care is generally the same no matter how old you are. However, living with diabetes can be further complicated for older people by other chronic health conditions and issues associated by the ageing process.

The series of booklets developed by NDSS provide information to help seniors manage their diabetes as they grow older.  The three booklets in the series are Managing diabetes as you age, Healthy eating and You and your health care team.

Managing diabetes as you age has information to help mange diabetes as people grow older including managing the effects of ageing, hypoglycaemia and your medicines.

Health eating gives information about healthy eating and food choices for older people living with diabetes, including nutrition and food needs as we age, daily meal plans and nutritious recipes.

You and your health care team has information to help work with a healthcare team including building a healthcare team, support services that can help and what to do if you are sick.

The booklets are available as an e-book or PDF version. To receive a hard copy call your state or territory diabetes association on 1300 136 588.
