New aged care facility for Wyndham Vale in Vic

Uniting Aged Care Victoria and Tasmania has officially opened Uniting Aged Care – Manor Lakes in Wyndham Vale.

The official opening of this new 60 bed aged care facility represents a significant turnaround for a site that just five months ago was described as “one of Victoria’s worst nursing homes”.

Under the previous approved provider, this facility faced sanctions on two occasions.

Between 24 and 25 October 2006, a Statement of Major Findings of a site audit of Wyndham Manor was conducted. The assessment team found that only 29 of the 44 expected outcomes were compliant and that 15 of the 44 expected outcomes were non-compliant.

Uniting Aged Care purchased the property on 3 January this year. The Aged Care Standards and Accreditation Agency Ltd conducted an audit from 30 April to 1 May. The Wyndham Manor facility was found to have successfully passed all 44 accreditation outcomes.
