Dr Wilson has a background in banking, medicine and finance roles, and holds a medical degree from The University of Queensland and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.

She is also finance director of The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust, acting chancellor of The University of Queensland, a member of The University of Queensland Faculty Of Health Sciences Board, a director of the General Sir John Monash Foundation and a member of the Institute for Molecular Bioscience Advisory Board.

Dr Wilson says: “The aged care industry is facing an unprecedented time of change, with resident needs and government policy acting as catalysts for providers in the sector to deliver better quality services.

“It is an exciting time to be involved and I am looking forward to the role I can play in influencing the direction of the business to provide continued high quality, specialist aged care.”

Opal chairman, Professor Peter Shergold AC, says Dr Wilson will bring valuable insights and expertise to the Opal board.

“We are delighted that such an eminent person has agreed to join our board,” he says.

“I know that Dr Wilson will assist us as we seek to deliver the quality of aged care that Australians expect and begin to build the innovative models of care that both governments and residents and their families are looking for.”
