Palliative care scholarships open

Applications are now open for the Palliative Care Foundation Scholarships 2013. Medical, nursing and allied health professionals either working, or with an intention of working in the palliative care system, are invited to apply through Palliative Care Australia for scholarship funding.

Applications are now open for the Palliative Care Foundation Scholarships 2013.

Medical, nursing and allied health professionals either working, or with an intention of working in the palliative care system, are invited to apply through Palliative Care Australia for scholarship funding.

Scholarships will be made available for an amount of up to $3,000 as a contribution towards course fees (not inclusive of amenities fees). Scholarship funding is granted for a 12 month period only. Applicants are encouraged to apply for funding in each year of their course.

Applications from students who have been able to secure a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) will be considered on an individual basis, however preference will be given to students in full fee paying places.

Applicants must meet the following key selection criteria:

• Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia.

• Applicants must provide evidence of current registration with the relevant Registration Board (where applicable).

• Applicants must be currently practicing or seeking employment in the palliative care service system.

• The applicant must provide a brief description of their education background and clinical experience.

• The applicant must demonstrate commitment to the chosen area of clinical practice.

• The applicant must demonstrate that they have enrolled, or are in the process of enrolling in postgraduate study.

• The applicant must provide details of any application for other professional development funding for this course other than this application.
