Palliative care study tour

In a 2015 global index on palliative care on 80 countries, conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit, the UK emerged Top as providing the best ‘quality of death’ and ‘quality of palliative care’, based on quality of the hospitals and hospice environments, staffing numbers and skills, affordability of care and quality of care.

One of the biggest challenges in long term care and healthcare is the delivery of palliative care.

Ageing Asia – a social enterprise in Singapore with focus on the ageing business market, will be conducting a study tour and conference in the UK to gain practical on the ground understanding of the World’s FIRST modern Hospice – St Christopher’s Hospice.

St Christopher’s Hospice will be sharing insights on delivering high quality approach towards hospice and palliative care through operational efficiency in maximising manpower capabilities, maintaining the quality of staff, and how to balance manpower efficiency and person-centred care.

The 4-day exclusive programme (18-21 July  2016) will look at case studies from the UK’s unique best practice models in palliative & hospice care, including rehab/dementia care innovations, home care and seniors housings.
