Pub partners on tap

A pub-friendly advertisement for drinking partners for his 88-year-old father, Jack, led to an overwhelming response from happy drinkers for Englishman, Mike

Hammond
.

The advertisement was placed in a local village post office, and asked for drinking companions to accompany Jack Hammond from his nursing home to the local pub.

Son Mike offered the successful respondent $14.60 an hour plus expenses for the pleasure of sitting with father Jack.

The drinking duties will now be shared between a retired doctor and a former military officer, which will keep both Jack and Mike happy.

“Dad’s now going to be down at the pub several times a week – three with his new friends and twice with me.

“I want to give him some of his old life.”
