Retirement community development in high demand
Wesley Mission Queensland’s second stage of the Rosemount Retirement Village has proved popular with potential future residents.
The Sinnamon Park village development, near Brisbane, will include two and three bedroom apartments and more than 46 buyers have shown interest in the 50 new apartments.
Building work on the development is set to begin soon.
Retirement Living Director at Wesley Mission Queensland, Kris Sargeant, says the provider has been overwhelmed with inquiries during the planning phase of the development.
“The thing that buyers told us made the development stand out against others was the spacious size of the apartments, interior design and well considered community spaces,” says Ms Sargeant.
“After initially planning to build several one-bedroom apartments, it soon became apparent retirees want bigger homes and more space, particularly in a post-COVID world.
“We did a great deal of research and consultation, particularly with our current residents, to
understand how we could meet the needs of the modern retiree both in terms of the new
apartments and also common community facilities.”
Aside from the apartments, the village includes a shared outdoor entertaining area, landscaped gardens, a heated swimming pool, a gym, an onsite cafe, alfresco lounge, library and large private function room.
