Share our story in song

The Geelong community is invited to a musical performance and storytelling event as part of the Victorian Seniors Festival on 19 October.

Presented by Mercy Health, Irish singer Maria Forde will perform ‘Sing a Song for Ireland’, a musical journey through the inspiring stories of Irish immigrants. The concert will be held in St Mary of the Angels Basilica church and is free for all Victorian Seniors Card holders.

Adjunct Professor Stephen Cornelissen, chief executive of Mercy Health says: “At the core of Mercy Health’s services is the belief that every story counts, and every person matters. As an advocate for older people, we have seen the power of storytelling in celebrating the life of every individual.

“It plays an important role in honouring the dignity and value inherent in each life. In presenting this concert we hope to share the story of our Foundress, Catherine McAuley, and also inspire the community to share theirs.”

To register for ‘Sing a Song for Ireland’, call (03) 5241 3686 or visit www.mercyhealth.com.au/shareourstory.

Tickets are FREE to all Victorian Seniors Card holders and cost $5 for family members and other guests. Tickets can be collected from Mercy Place Rice Village, Geelong.

Mercy Health is a Catholic community benefit organisation founded by the Sisters of Mercy to deliver health, aged care and community services.
