Utilities and Seniors Concession Allowance increase for veterans and seniors
The Government has introduced legislation that will deliver on the election promise of an increase in Utilities and Seniors Concession Allowances.
Under the new provisions, the Utility Allowance will increase from $107 to $500 a year; the Seniors Concession Allowance from $218 to $500; and the Telephone Allowance from $88 to $132.
The new rates come into effect in late March.
