The District Nurses is one of Tasmania’s oldest and best loved community organisations.

The District Nurses have been providing community nursing and in home support, for people of all ages, since 1896.

The District Nurses Short Term Restorative Care (STRC) is an eight week package of care that can provide a range of care and services to help prevent or reduce difficulties you may have completing everyday tasks.

STRC aims to improve a person’s wellbeing and independence to help them continue living at home.

The District Nurses do not charge clients fees for STRC packages.

The types of services you may receive through STRC include but are not limited to:

• Aids and equipment

• Physiotherapy

• Occupational therapy

• Footcare

• Clinical nursing

• Personal care and assistance

• Meal preparation, nutrition and diet advise

• Personal medical alarm
